Retro Thursday – Sega Master System VC Review: Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog SMS Cover There may be a lot of you out there that are like “Sega Master System? Sonic the Hedgehog?  Don’t you mean the Sega Genesis?”  Nope, I do not.  While not very popular here in the US, Sega had a system out before the Genesis called the Sega Master System that was the 8-bit competition to the NES system and Sega supported it well into the Genesis’ life-cycle so they, of course, made Sonic for the Master System as well.  The reason I am reviewing the game is because many people may not realize that instead of a dumbed down port of the Genesis game, it is actually a whole new game and therefore worth a look for platform game fans.

9-9-09: The Dreamcast 10 Years Later [To Be Continued]

Dreamcast_logo Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the US release of the Sega Dreamcast, the last console that Sega released before going into just software publishing.  To this day the system is highly regarded by gamers and it has a library full of classics and “hidden gems.”  All day I had many people asking me what I was doing to celebrate and asking if I was going to make a post about it.  I had trouble deciding what to post, and decided that I’d do a top 10 list.
