Retro Thursday – Arcade/XBLA/PS2/Xbox/GameCube Review: Root Beer Tapper

Root Beer Tapper cover That’s a lot of consoles listed in the title, huh?  That’s because this is a classic Midway arcade game, and in reality I could list a hundred more that it was on, but I will focus on the XBLA version as well as the one found on the Midway Arcade Treasures collection on PS2/Xbox/GameCube.  Has the game held up after all these years?

Indie Games Wednesday – PC Review: Nation Red

Nation Red Cover In a time when games (especially by indie developers) are made to be twin stick shooters or have zombies in them, sometimes they are are both and Nation Red is one of those times.  I love zombies and I love twin stick shooters, did I love Nation Red?

Indie Games Wednesday – Xbox Live Indie Games Review – Avatar Rockets

Avatar Rockets cover Avatar Rockets is the latest Xbox Live Indie Game to use Avatars, even if you can barely tell.  In the end it was used to get it’s game more recognized which was a smart thing to do.  The game is extremely fun and simple to play, but may not be for everyone.

PC Review: Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies cover Probably the most popular genre at this point, at least in terms of number of games being released, is the “Tower Defense” genre. With so many coming out and being so popular, and with them being quick to pick up and play, it was only a matter of time before Pop Cap Games decided to get in on it. Enter Plants vs. Zombies for the PC. Instead of towers, you plant different plants in a garden to strategically place them to ward off zombies from entering your house. Is this twist enough to keep you playing?

Streets of FuryAnyone here that remembers Lethal Enforcers raise your hand? Ok, we have a few. Ok, how about Pit-Fighter? Ok, less hands, but still a few. How many think that these graphics today is a good idea? What, no hands? I will have to respectfully disagree with you…

DSiWare Review: Bird & Beans

For my first DSiWare review I figured I’d go with something simple, something quick, something cheap. While it may not be a perfect example of what DSiWare can be all about, it is a good example of the kinds of games that should be downloads.

Updated Review for I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES!!1

I have updated the review of I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!1 to reflect a bit on the multiplayer now that I’ve played it, and also for another issue I seem to have with the game (That’s marked with an [UPDATE] towards the bottom if you want to skim).  You can check that out here.  Let me know what you think.  Also, sorry I did not get my Shadow Complex review up tonight as promised but it’s almost 5 AM and I posted a bunch of other stuff tonight and didn’t want to overload you all.  Or would you rather I post as much as possible?  Leave some comments to let me know what kind of updating you prefer on a blog.  I will definitely get the review up tomorrow though, as well as my late promised update of the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 review to reflect the PS3 version as well.
