Avatar Rockets on Xbox Live Indie Games has been updated. Going to bed now but will try it out tomorrow to see what has changed. In the meantime if you don’t know the game, click here to read my review of the game before the update.
[UPDATE 7-22 @ 2:36 AM] So I have been checking the last few days and whenever I load the game up it does not say anything about an update so I am curious if I had bad information or if the update process is not working. Anyone out there have any info?
That’s a lot of consoles listed in the title, huh? That’s because this is a classic Midway arcade game, and in reality I could list a hundred more that it was on, but I will focus on the XBLA version as well as the one found on the Midway Arcade Treasures collection on PS2/Xbox/GameCube. Has the game held up after all these years?
In a time when games (especially by indie developers) are made to be twin stick shooters or have zombies in them, sometimes they are are both and Nation Red is one of those times. I love zombies and I love twin stick shooters, did I love Nation Red?
Avatar Rockets is the latest Xbox Live Indie Game to use Avatars, even if you can barely tell. In the end it was used to get it’s game more recognized which was a smart thing to do. The game is extremely fun and simple to play, but may not be for everyone.

Probably the most popular genre at this point, at least in terms of number of games being released, is the “Tower Defense” genre. With so many coming out and being so popular, and with them being quick to pick up and play, it was only a matter of time before Pop Cap Games decided to get in on it. Enter Plants vs. Zombies for the PC. Instead of towers, you plant different plants in a garden to strategically place them to ward off zombies from entering your house. Is this twist enough to keep you playing?

For my first DSiWare review I figured I’d go with something simple, something quick, something cheap. While it may not be a perfect example of what DSiWare can be all about, it is a good example of the kinds of games that should be downloads.
