Fight Night Round 3 was an innovated and graphically impressive game in the early stages of the Xbox 360’s lifecycle and was also the first game that I got all the achievements for. Sadly, by the time Round 4 came out I had grown tired of the game and not much had changed plus a UFC game had come out. EA knew that they had to mix things up a bit so instead of just going with “Round 5” in comes Fight Night Champion. Is this M rated boxing game what they needed?

Kart racers are usually a sign of a company not knowing what to do with a franchise anymore so I rarely pay attention to them. With the exception of the granddaddy of them all, Mario Kart, they are usually sub-par. If they aren’t, then you usually don’t care about the franchise anymore. I never played a Crash Bandicoot after Crash Team Racing came out, I haven’t played a Bomberman since they had one (except the XBLA version which wasn’t really “new”), etc. This is not one particular franchise but SEGA as a whole, so should I be worried about the end of the company?
A new year with some new releases… Just not too many this week. The coming weeks will be quite busy with releases, but this week sees Dark Void, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection for Wii and the PS2 port of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. When I have to put a couple of budget PC releases of game shows just to fill the widget you know you have a slow week. The demo for Dark Void is available to download now, but I have yet to try it.
I know that the full game of Fairytale Fights is out, but the demo is a perfect example on how NOT to make a demo. They pretty much knew they had a crap game so made an even crappier demo that told people, “Do not buy our game.”
“Guest Demo Impressions?” you’re asking yourself…. Well the last batch of demo impressions were popular with readers so I wanted to keep up. While not as popular here in the States, soccer does have its yearly games and the fans are diehards. I am not one of them, I know little about the sport and/or video games, but my friend Dave is. To help me out he decided to write up some impressions on the two different soccer games of the year, FIFA 2010 from EA Sports and Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 from Konami. This may seem like sort of a cop-out, but after class and playing games tonight, I didn’t have anything ready to post, but I can tell you about what I thought of the 3 XBLA games released yesterday. This post will delete once I get “real” reviews for each game. I will also post a “real” review later on today.

I went onto the Playstation Store this past Thursday to check out the weekly update to find a nice surprise in the form of the Half Minute Hero demo. I had heard rumblings about “The RPG you play in 30 seconds” and I had to check it out. What I found was good.
After getting some feedback from some readers I’ve been told I should review some demos of games. I do not see the point in reviewing a demo for a game that is already out, but for something like WET, which the full version has yet to be released, I figured it’d be worth doing as a way of saying whether or not a game is something you should keep your eye on. So let’s get to it.
