For Those Looking for a Great Gaming Laptop

I found this looking around for laptops that were good for gaming.  This is the nice “under $1000” price point yet probably will out perform my current desktop for gaming.  Click below to order. Perfect for that Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty on the go.

Lead and Gold Free to Play on Steam This Weekend

I know I haven’t posted a review yet so normally I don’t post stuff like this, but it’s a good deal so I had to.  Lead and Gold is free to play all this weekend on Steam and there’s even a discount to purchase the game if you like it.  I got it at release and haven’t spent as much time with it as I’d like so this weekend will be a perfect opportunity.  So far I’ve had a lot of fun with it, so you all should check it out.  Post your thoughts below.

Alien Swarm Released on Steam [UPDATED]

For those of you that have not been following me on Twitter, you may have missed the fact that Alien Swarm has been released on Steam.  Why am I mentioning this?  Because it is FREE.  That’s right a free 3rd person shooter with 4 player co-op is available now for free as well as the code base (the Source SDK which has been recently updated).  Download it now and look for me if you want someone to play with.  FYI: Game supports achievements and Steam Cloud as well.

[UPDATE 7-20-2010 @ 12:16 AM] Game is SUPER fun with a lot of different possibilities.  Reminds me a lot of Killing Floor but with aliens and as a twin stick shooter (although with mouse/keyboard obviously).  Will post more impressions and a review soon.

New Releases for the Week of March 15th, 2010

If you click on Upcoming Releases you will see I have updated it to include this week.  It is a huge week this week with releases such as the Dragon Age: Origins expansion, Resonance of Fate, Fragile Dreams on Wii, and arguably the biggest release this week: God of War 3 on PS3.  I am running a bit behind in my games so I may not play any soon but I am looking forward to all of those.  Time to get back to playing so I can catch up.

Updated Review: Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

Batman Arkham Asylum cover I have updated my review for Batman Arkham Asylum to reflect a few things that have changed since I originally posted the review.  This includes the fact that there was free DLC released and the PC version has come out and what makes it different (mostly PhysX support).  Click here to read the review.

Indie Games Wednesday – PC Review: Nation Red

Nation Red Cover In a time when games (especially by indie developers) are made to be twin stick shooters or have zombies in them, sometimes they are are both and Nation Red is one of those times.  I love zombies and I love twin stick shooters, did I love Nation Red?

Upcoming Releases for the Week of January 18th

A new year with some new releases… Just not too many this week.  The coming weeks will be quite busy with releases, but this week sees Dark Void, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection for Wii and the PS2 port of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.  When I have to put a couple of budget PC releases of game shows just to fill the widget you know you have a slow week.  The demo for Dark Void is available to download now, but I have yet to try it.

Upcoming Releases for Week of November 2nd

The Upcoming Releases page has been updated again after a few weeks off.  This week sees the release of both Band Hero and LEGO Rock Band which are the more “family friendly” versions of the respective franchises.  Since LEGO Rock Band has “The Final Countdown” by Europe it automatically wins in my mind.  If music games aren’t your thing (or you don’t want to buy ANOTHER one after 10 have come out this year alone) there is also Dragon Age: Origins which looks pretty sweet for fans of Baldurs Gate, the Ultimate Sith Edition of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for those looking for new content that is released as a full game instead of DLC, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, and Rabbids Go Home for Wii which is more of an adventure game than the mini-game collections they have been known for until now.  There are others as well so take a look at the page.
