Indie Games Wednesday – PC Review: Nation Red

Nation Red Cover In a time when games (especially by indie developers) are made to be twin stick shooters or have zombies in them, sometimes they are are both and Nation Red is one of those times.  I love zombies and I love twin stick shooters, did I love Nation Red?

Indie Games Wednesday – XBLI Review: Hang ‘em High A Hangman Game

Hang 'Em High Ever felt the need to play Hangman, but didn’t like all the money involved with playing Wheel of Fortune?  Hang ‘em High A Hangman Game is just for you!  Let’s be honest here, there is much to hangman and therefore there isn’t much to this game.  I took the time to play though so if you want to read on to how this game works, and why it has a violence rating of 1/3, read on.

Indie Games Wednesday – XBLI Review: Physics Lab

Physics Lab This week’s review is not going to be a typical review because Physics Lab is not a typical “game.”  Physics Lab is basically a sandbox program that allows you to create objects and play around with the physics engine.  If this interests you, read on.  If you just want to be able to play a game with clear objectives, a beginning and end, etc, then look elsewhere.

Coming Next Week: Review for Physics Lab (XBLI)

I know this sounds weird to post what I’m going to post instead of just posting it, but the nice guys at 2.0 Studios were nice enough to give me a free copy of their latest Xbox Live Indie Game “Phsyics Lab.”  Check out their site, check out the game, and I’ll let you know my thoughts after putting more time into it.  There is a lot you can do with this game and it’s pretty involved so after spending some time I realize I need to spend more to really get a grip on it :)

Indie Games Wednesday – XBLI Review: Arkedo Series – 03 PIXEL!

Arkedo Series - 03 PIXEL cover After a departure with a puzzle game in Arkedo Series – 02 SWAP!, Pastagames returns to platforming (much like the wonderful 01 – JUMP!) in Arkedo Series –03 PIXEL! on Xbox Live Indie Games.  Just like JUMP! it’s the “old school platforming” feel that makes it fun to play and a great value.

Indie Games Wednesday – XBLI Review: The Flight Before Christmas!

Flight Before Christmas cover Well, it’s Indie Games Wednesday and this Friday is Christmas so I figured I should do a Christmas related game: This week is The Flight Before Christmas.  It’s a single player Christmas themed game that puts you in control of Santa delivering his presents.

Indie Games Wednesday – XBLI Review: Arkedo Series – 01 JUMP!

Jump! cover What was the first game system you owned?  If you said Playstation or Nintendo 64, you may want to just move along.  Arkedo Series –01 JUMP! (from here on I’ll just refer to it as Jump) is a straight up old school platformer straight from the 80s 8-bit NES/Sega Master System days.  While this may turn a lot of people off, to me I thought it was a great experience.

Indie Games Wednesday News: Weapon of Choice (XBLI) Update

I know, it’s not a review for Indie Games Wednesday, but i wanted to post something as promised.  Weapon of Choice has been recently updated on Xbox Live Indie Games.  The next time you load the game up it will prompt you to update it which requires a redownload of the game.  Once this is done you will notice that there are quite a few more difficulty levels now for those looking for a challenge, or those that want to play through multiple times at different levels.  In terms of what else the update does – I am still not sure as I did not notice anything different so far.  Will update further as I find out.
